I used to own an ET3 just over 10 years ago; my first 'classic' vespa. Can't beat these in city traffic.

I don't have an iphone but for those of you that do, you may be interested to know you can get this Vespa App.

This very simple application helps you to identify many different versions of the vespa. It provides you with technical details, assessment tables, listing tables and videos. This application helps professional vespa hunters or amateurs to evaluate vespas.

Jenny Markley

Following my recent post on Ivan Dupont's work, another photographer I admire is American, Jenny Markley. I first noticed Arlington based Jenny's work on Flickr via her excellent Vespa shots taken on both film & digital formats. The beautiful shots below taken of her own white Vespa SS180 are some of the best I've seen; I love the atmosphere & tones in these shots....

Like me, Jenny is very much into original paint scooters & classic cars etc which I think is probably more an American thing than a British thing; particularly judging by the following shots taken by Jenny at various US scooter rallies....

As well as her Flickr photostream, Jenny has her own photography website - www.snapcophoto.com Being a fellow vintage & film photography fan, I really like her take on things which I kind of see as 'vintage Americana'.

In describing her work, Jenny says: "I use a variety of film, digital, and mobile cameras to capture the ordinary moments and objects that catch my eye. I'm most often drawn to the simple beauty, colors, and geometry of things that are lost in plain sight."

Carrera

A nice, late vintage Porsche 911 Carrera I spotted recently in my lunch hour. I prefer earlier, more subtle 911s like this one I photographed last summer but this is still quite cool. Not the easiest to shoot as this was sandwiched between a bright yellow Fiat & a blue van; still I enjoy the challenge of trying to extract a decent shot out of these situations - I reckon the middle shot proved to be the best of these...
