A four-month Festival of British culture and creativity.

London marks the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain with a summer of themed celebrations.
A temporary exhibition, the Museum of 1951 in the Royal Festival Hall will feature memorabilia, art, photographs and memoirs from the first time around. Another museum, 'Land of Lost Content' is an emporium of 50s memorabilia, boasting more than one million pieces and describing itself as "the national museum of British Popular Culture." Meanwhile, it's vintage fashion and music galore at Wayne Hemingway's mini festival along Southbank, relocating from its previous Goodwood site.
Festival highlights include Ray Davies curating this year’s Meltdown (June), Tracey Emin’s first major survey show in London at the Hayward Gallery (18 May to 29 August), plus appearances by Lang Lang, Heston Blumenthal, Billy Bragg, John Berger, Meera Syal and Tony Benn.
Themed weekends celebrate just some of the highlights of British culture – from Stewart Lee’s curated weekend of comedy and music (27 to 30 May) to Light Fantastic in collaboration with the BBC (24 to 26 June), a hip-hop weekend (14 to 17 July) and Vintage Weekend at Southbank Centre (29 to 31 July)

Free parking for classic bikes had been laid on in Jay Mews outside RCA; I rode down on my Vespa & was the only scoot there amongst some lovely classic Nortons, Triumphs, Vincents & Harleys.

Nick's 'Revival' exhibition was his final show for his Masters degree & was truly excellent, very inspirational. Check out Nick Clement's excellent photography here www.nickclements.co.uk

Nice old Safari being used by it's owner for his daily & work driver. He told me he painted it with a tin of Dulux gloss black paint in a Sainsbury's car park years ago... nice to see one being 'used' properly.
